SMILE\-FX® / MIH Teeth Guide

# Care and sources behind the guide

## Who this guide is for

SMILE\-FX® publishes this guide for a young person and parent or supporter already given an MIH finding by a clinician\. Its two jobs are to explain selected enamel\-property and possible functional meaning, then the conditional connection between a severely affected molar's restorative outlook and the developing bite\.

The clinical explanation comes from selected narrative in a dated European policy\. Practice information below is owner\-confirmed context, separately from that work\. AI assisted the writing and organization; no named clinician review of this adaptation, EAPD affiliation or endorsement is claimed\.

## Doctors and continuing responsibility

Board\-certified orthodontists see every SMILE\-FX® patient, including follow\-ups\. Dr\. Tracy Miao Liang is the clinical director\. This is the practice's stated care policy, not a claim that Dr\. Liang reviewed this guide or accepted a particular case\.

The Miramar studio offers full\-service, digitally driven orthodontics with a clear\-aligner focus\. An assessment determines the appropriate orthodontic approach; availability is not appliance eligibility or enamel treatment\.

## Planning, review and communication

AI\-assisted precision planning and illustrative before\-and\-after previews support clinical explanation\. They do not establish enamel condition or promise the pictured result\.

Low\-dose 3D CBCT is available when clinically indicated\. It is not routine for every person, and this guide's request promises no included or free imaging or special workup\.

Smartphone/iPhone monitoring is standard with braces and aligner plans for clinical progress review\. It supports continuing orthodontic communication and does not replace dental examinations\.

Remote review can flag a broken bracket or a nontracking aligner for the clinical team's attention\. It does not prove healthy enamel, tooth safety or an assured response\.

24/7 provider\-support contact access is available\. Access is different from an instant\-response guarantee; individual care arrangements apply\.

## Individually prescribed options

In\-house 3D\-printed aligners and individually arranged same\-day aligner or retainer options are available\. Same\-day arrangements do not apply to every person or appliance and do not describe MIH restorative care\.

Individually arranged home course\-correction shipments and doctor\-led Rescue aligner care for prior treatment are separate prescribed orthodontic arrangements\. They are not a paediatric enamel remedy or a retreatment outcome promise\.

Custom 3D\-printed bracket options have separate off\-site manufacture\. This is distinct from local aligner fabrication and establishes no material or clinical superiority\.

Individually prescribed Invisalign®, OrthoFX®, AirFlex™ and nighttime options are available\. The orthodontist selects a system and wear plan; a brand listing supplies no recommendation or suitability conclusion for this reader\.

Included fixed or removable retainers plus whitening belong in the written proposal and individual prescribed arrangements\. Confirm the applicable scope, fees and inclusions; this guide adds no inclusion promise\.

At\-home and in\-office whitening options are available\. Availability is not a recommendation for a child with MIH, and does not mean every person receives both\.

Invisalign® is a trademark of Align Technology, Inc\. OrthoFX® and AirFlex™ are marks of their respective owner\. Product references do not imply endorsement\.

## Keep the dental and orthodontic purposes clear

The practice information describes orthodontic care\. MIH restorative and other dental\-treatment decisions remain with the responsible dental team\. Digital tools, monitoring, aligners and whitening are not presented as treating MIH enamel or diagnosing it\.

The optional Miramar conversation concerns the orthodontic bite or developing\-dentition part of a question\. It promises no paediatric\-restorative MIH clinic, extraction, procedure, referral package, case acceptance or special workup\. [Read the visit purpose and request details](</visit>) \.

An optional next step

## Source and adaptation credit

Clinical explanations adapted from N\. A\. Lygidakis, E\. Garot, C\. Somani, G\. D\. Taylor, P\. Rouas and F\. S\. L\. Wong, Best clinical practice guidance for clinicians dealing with children presenting with molar\-incisor\-hypomineralisation \(MIH\): an updated European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry policy document , European Archives of Paediatric Dentistry, 23\(1\):3\-21\. Published online 20 October 2021; journal issue 2022\. © The Author\(s\) 2021\. [Original article / DOI 10\.1007/s40368\-021\-00668\-5](<https://doi.org/10.1007/s40368-021-00668-5>) \. Licensed under [Creative Commons Attribution 4\.0 International](<https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/>) \.

SMILE\-FX® simplified and reorganized selected authors' narrative into two patient\-learning chapters and added the original completed readings and text\-led relationship panels\. This adaptation uses the retained pruned prose; no prior adaptation was adopted\. No source figures, tables, captions, supplements, case stories or third\-party expression are reproduced\. Reference does not imply endorsement\.

The source is a dated European expert consensus policy informed by two systematic reviews and meta\-analyses where appropriate, using GRADE\. Evidence strength varies; it is not a current US standard or a uniformly high\-certainty treatment result\. Underlying studies and later guidance were not independently reviewed\. No named clinician review of this adaptation is claimed\. The [applicable license terms and warranty disclaimers](<https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode.en>) remain in force\.
